In Them's Fightin' Herds, both of the original composers would start working on the dynamic music system, producing colossal amounts of new music for the game. Several universal systems, including juggle decay, anti-air attacks, pushblocking, and cross canters were added. The Z-Engine, provided to the team by Lab Zero, allowed for expansion of the game's system as well as supporting GGPO-a system which uses rollback netcode. The general gameplay would be later transferred to Them's Fightin' Herds.
Rainbow Dash became Tianhuo (aerial rushdown)ĭespite the new characters carrying the legacy of having similar fighting styles and personalities to their predecessors, they all stand out from each other enough to be considered their own characters. Pinkie Pie became Paprika (tricky all-rounder). Twilight Sparkle became Oleander (all-rounder). Applejack became Arizona (ground rushdown). The character themes were tied to their respective stages.Īfter the C&D, the team had to discard their project, but when starting new one, they transferred the character movesets from Fighting is Magic to the new roster, which was designed by Lauren Faust and adapted for each of the fighting archetypes: At that time, the main theme and six character themes were composed. The soundtrack for Fighting is Magic included original compositions by RC88 and WhitetailMusic. It is built around a server system-a player hosts a room for other players to join and use as a matchmaking. 
The multiplayer would use MTSP (MT Special Edition) - a Japanese 3rd party netplay client for the FM2K engine, with integrated lobby and chat. All characters had universal launchers and throw commands, as well as super attacks which could be performed by filling up super bar. The magic button would allow for performing specials attacks, helping to extend combos. The game was built using the Fighter Maker 2D engine, and would feature a four-button fighting system: light, medium, heavy, and magic. It's not known which other 11 characters would make it into the original game. The final goal would be 17 in the long run.

My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic was an upcoming fan-made fighting game inspired by the animated television series My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Ursa Major: Same as the Ursa Minor, but bigger & purple instead of blue. Nightmare Rarity: Rarity, having been corrupted by the Nightmare Forces. Ursa Minor: A celestial entity composed of stars in the shape of a bear. Trixie Lulamoon: Starlight's best friend who's a magician that was made a villain by circumstance. Shadowfright: The leader of the Nightmare Forces who's a shadowy apparition that creates nightmares. Gilda: Rainbow's childhood friend who's a griffin that became antagonistic towards the others because of her upbringing. Diamond Tiara: A rich filly who looks down on the non-rich & blank flanks to take out her frustration for her home life. Dragons: Giant fire breathing lizards with sharp fangs & wings that resemble either Basil from Dragonshy or Reginald from Owl's Well That Ends Well. Manticores: Winged lions with scorpion tails. Nightmare Forces: Dark creatures from the Moon who were corrupted by Nightmare Moon after she was banished there. 
Shadowbolts: Pegasi who ally themselves with Nightmare Moon.Pseudocorns: Unicorns that decided to create a forbidden magic potion to turn themselves into Alicorns & become famous.Cockatrices: Bird-like beasts with a petrifying gaze.Vampiric Jackalopes: Creatures that's a cross between a jackrabbit & an antelope.Parasprites: Parasitic sprites that feed off food from ponies.Zecora: A zebra who's a known brewer that speaks in rhyme.Diamond Tiara: A rich filly who looks down on the non-rich & blank flanks to take out her frustration for her home life. (Unlocked after fighting her).
Scootaloo: Rainbow Dash's adoptive younger sister & a member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.Sweetie Belle: Rarity's younger sister & a member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.Apple Bloom: Applejack's younger sister & the leader of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.Spike: A dragon who's Twilight's assistant & adoptive son.Applejack: A cowgirl who's the Element of Honesty.(She becomes unplayable after Nightmare Moon captures her & becomes playable after fighting Nightmare Rarity.) Rarity: A fashionista who's the Element of Generosity.
